2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards Awards Rules and Regulations
Nominations for the 2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards will begin in September 2018. Nominations must be submitted on the Footlights People’s Choice Awards web page. Nominations submitted by e-mail, phone, social media, or any other platform will not be accepted.
Nominations must be submitted by persons over the age of 13 who are valid residents of the state of Wisconsin. Marcus Promotions, Inc. reserves the right to disregard nominations that do not meet these requirements.
There is no limit to the amount of nominations an individual can submit, but only one nomination can be included per submission. Individuals seeking to submit multiple nominations much submit each nomination separately.
For a nomination to be accepted, the production must have been presented before a public audience for at least one performance between April 1st, 2018 and March 31st, 2019. At least one performance must have been presented in one of the following counties: Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Washington, or Waukesha.
All productions presented by theatre companies, churches, colleges and universities are qualified to be nominated. High school productions are not eligible to be nominated. Presenting companies do not need to be Footlights clients to be nominated for awards.
Valid nominations must include all of the following information: Which award the nomination is for, name of the production, name of the presenting company, and a brief statement explaining the nomination. For awards directed at actors, designers, choreographers, or directors, the nomination must also include the person’s name and their role/title in the production. Nominations that do not include all of this information will be disregarded.
Nominations for the 2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards will end on Sunday, March 31st, 2019 at 11:59PM CST. Any submissions after this cutoff will not be considered.
Marcus Promotions, Inc. reserves the right to disregard nominations based on duplicate submissions, incomplete nominations, ineligible productions, or for any other reason. In the event of an excess of nominations in any category, Marcus Promotions, Inc. reserves the right to narrow down the nominations based on the number of nominations a person/production received and the attached statement explaining the nomination. Artists or Presenting Theatre Companies reserve the right to decline a nomination in any category, and will be promptly removed from the nominations list.
Voting for the Footlights People’s Choice Awards will begin on Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 at 9:00AM CST. Votes must be cast on the Footlights People’s Choice Awards web page. Nominations submitted by e-mail, phone, social media, or any other platform will not be accepted.
Voting is open to any persons over the age 13. Votes will only be accepted once per person. Marcus Promotions, Inc. reserves the rights to disregard any votes that have been submitted duplicate times.
When submitting votes, only one nominee can be selected per category.
Persons submitting a voting form do not need to vote in every category. In this event, the voting individual reserves the right to leave any of the categories blank.
Voting for the 2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards will end on Sunday, April 28th, 2017 at 11:59PM CST. Any votes cast after this cutoff will not be counted.
The top three nominees (those who have received the most votes) in each category will be announced on Footlights.com the week of May 6, 2019. The actual winners of each category will be announced and celebrated at the 2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards Ceremony.
The 2019 Footlights People’s Choice Awards Ceremony will be held June 2019. The exact date and venue of the awards ceremony will be announced at a later date.
The top three nominees in each category will be given priority in submitting their reservations for the Awards Ceremony. Once these reservations have been accounted for, Marcus Promotions, Inc. will open remaining seating for purchase by the public.
The top three nominees in each category will be announced at the award ceremony, as well as the winner of each award. One representative of the presenting theatre company winning the award will be invited onto the stage to receive the award. Award winners will not be given the opportunity to give a speech at the ceremony, with the exception of the Lifetime Achievement Award and Community Outreach Awards.
The awards ceremony will be followed by an after party. Those attending the awards ceremony are invited to stay for the reception..
