Milwaukee Ballet Seeks Marketing & Promotions Manager

Milwaukee Ballet was founded in 1970 with the mission to create a rich and diverse community through inspiring dance performance, education and outreach.

The Marketing & Promotions Manager reports directly to the Director of Marketing within a four-person Marketing Department. He/she helps plan and execute marketing and communication strategies for Milwaukee Ballet Company and its Milwaukee Ballet II program, the School & Academy, Community Engagement, and Development departments. The Marketing Department is responsible for generating approximately $2.3 million per year in ticket sales. This is a full-time, exempt position with health benefits.

Job requirements:

  • Coordinate e-marketing campaigns with Director of Marketing for the Company, School & Academy and Development Department, using Mail Chimp software;

  • Optimize e-mail as a marketing tool, leveraging list segmentation, strategy development and new ways to engage the customer;

  • Design digital flyers, social media posts, posters or audience guides using canva.com;

  • Coordinate outside vendors such as videographers, printers, graphic designers
  • Manage the production of Milwaukee Ballet's performance program for each of its five productions
  • Update the Company website and support maintenance of the Company's social media accounts
  • Generate content and support maintenance of Company's social media accounts
  • Staff performances and special events, including The Nutcracker

  • Analyze ticket sales and venue capacity and calculate and initiate demand pricing for performances,

    in conjunction with Ticket Director;

  • Track and report on marketing campaigns and assist the Director of Marketing with research and

    analysis for subscribers and single ticket buyers;

  • Support the production of the season brochure, including scheduling and tracking milestones and coordinating photo and video shoots with dancers and creative partners;

  • Support the maintenance of our patron and donor database,

  • When needed, provide Box Office support to sell tickets and subscriptions and ensure consistently

    high degrees of patron customer service.

    Required background and technical skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or communication or related field of study preferred;

  • Three to five years’ experience as a communications professional or relevant role;

  • Knowledge of Archtics Ticketing Software and/or Raisers Edge

  • Proficiency in Canva Graphic Design Online Software; Mail Chimp; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter

    and Snapchat; WordPress or similar CMS, Google Analytics.

  • Experience in implementing and maintaining social media strategies to increase brand awareness

    and engagement; photography and videography and video-making skills advantageous;

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as abilities to interpret statistics;

  • Ability to manage time effectively and collaborate with others.
