The corporate relations specialist contributes to the success of the department’s fundraising goals by providing strategic, creative, and thoughtful recommendations toward a solid fundraising program that builds on a donor-centric model. This position works to expand JMKAC’s reach through cultivation and stewardship of corporate donors and procurement of corporate gifts and sponsorships. The corporate relations officer must provide leadership on strategy and new approaches, as well as collaborate with JMKAC colleagues across departments while stewarding key donor and volunteer relationships.

• Develop timing and strategies for requests for special events sponsorship.
• Develop timing and strategies for annual corporate gifts.
• With Deputy Director, Development, set corporate sponsorship and gift goals.
• Maintain and track progress toward achieving goals.
• Institutionalize follow-up process with corporate donors.
• Moves Management
• Identify
prospects through research, networking, and partner organizations.
• Work with other areas of JMKAC to identify and leverage opportunities for corporate donor engagement with exhibitions, programming, and events.
• Develop and implement corporate donor retention strategy including acknowledging gifts and sponsorships in high touch ways.
• Ensure accurate corporate stewardship and acknowledgement through social media plan.
• Work with Grants Manager to ensure correct crediting of corporations and foundations and maintain special events crediting information for marketing.

• Prepare any information on corporate giving needed for auditors.
• Provide Deputy Director, Development with corporate donor stats and trends.
• Be able to manipulate, analyze, and interpret data in donor database.

The corporate relations specialist may be required to undertake other duties as necessary to support various initiatives and development efforts.

• 3 years of relevant experience with corporate fundraising, event fundraising or philanthropy.
• Independent worker with a proven track-record of meeting performance and financial metrics.
• Proficiency in donor database software, and Microsoft Office programs.
• Ability to distill complex organizational needs into clear, competitive, targeted funding requests.
• Manage multiple tasks and ability to reset priorities at any time.
• Perform duties with a critical eye for details.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills – ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with potential and current funders and community members.
• Work effectively with a team.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• A college degree in a relevant field or comparable work experience is required

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center seeks a dynamic, creative, knowledgeable, highly organized, and self-starting individual to advance its mission of generating a creative exchange between artists and the public.

Under the direction of the Senior Curator, the Assistant Curator:
• Assists with the research, development, and implementation of a vibrant, innovative and balanced exhibition schedule
• Provides meaningful support to artists and assists with commissioning new work
• Takes part in the development and implementation of interdisciplinary programs, projects and events—both in-person and virtual—that employ innovative strategies to amplify and unpack the ideas and themes found in the galleries
• Maintains and strengthens the Arts Center’s regional, national and international professional networks
• Collaborates with the Arts Center’s Public Programs staff to ideate and implement innovative, public-facing programs and community-based exhibitions
• Forges cross-departmental
synergy by collaboratively developing convergent programming that creates links between programs and departments
• Works closely with the Marketing team to communicate, promote, and publicize the Arts Center’s exhibitions and related programs
• Assists the Development team with identifying grant opportunities for exhibitions and programs, including grant writing and reporting
• Writes interpretive materials for exhibitions that are engaging and accessible to a variety of audiences
• Plans and implements conferences, symposia and think-tanks
• Other duties as assigned

• Master’s Degree in art history or a closely aligned field and a minimum of two years’ curatorial experience
• Experience organizing exhibitions, projects and programs that are artist-centric; conceptually rigorous yet accessible to broad audiences; and integrate under-represented art forms into national art discussions
• Broad and interdisciplinary understanding of contemporary art, and engaged in conversations that expand the boundaries of art making
• Demonstrated experience in public programming and convening
• Solid experience writing about and interpreting art in accessible ways for a variety of audiences
• Excellent management, research, organizational, and verbal communication skills
• Attention to detail; the ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; and excellent time-management and problem-solving skills
• The ability and willingness to be flexible and supportive in a changing work environment

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (email/scheduling) and similar programs required. Proficiency with PastPerfect, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp highly desirable.
