One week of rehearsal.

One stellar cast.

One singular sensation.

For two performances only, ground-breaking theatrical forces Theater RED and Milwaukee Opera Theatre have teamed up to bring new life to a beloved classic musical, A Chorus Line.

A Chorus Line chronicles the lives of performers, hopeful to find a place on ‘the line’ – dancing in the chorus of a Broadway show. Through music and monologues, we learn of each of the auditionees’ histories, hopes, dreams, struggles, and failures.

Unlike the revolutionary 1975 classic, these two companies, working alongside the Arts @ Stritch program to present the show at Cardinal Stritch University, have reimagined this production – pitting veteran performers against a young, upstart director.

This ambitious choice has also made its way into the casting choices for this production. It’s rare to find the opportunity to see such well-known, esteemed Milwaukee artists together on one stage. The cast features:

Don.....................Joel Kopischke

Maggie...............Jenny Wanasek

Greg....................Mark Bucher

Cassie.................Beth Mulkerron

Sheila..................Angela Iannone

Bobby..................Karl Miller

Kristine................Karen Estrada

Val.......................Marcee Doherty Elst

Zach...................Joe Picchetti

Larry...................Ryan Cappleman

They are joined on stage by James Carrington, Stephanie Staszak, Solana Ramirez-Garcia, Becky Cofta, Zachery Dean, Matt Zeman, Sean Jackson, and Rachael Zientek.

This show helps further the missions of both companies involved – Theater RED’s mission to provide strong roles for women and a chance for growth for involved artists, and Milwaukee Opera Theatre’s commitment to reimaging classic and contemporary lyric theater. You haven’t seen anything quite like this production before, and it’s safe to say you may not ever again. Don’t miss this singular sensation, running for only two performances – Sunday, 8/27 and Monday, 8/28.
