Professor Lori Woodall-Schaufler will produce the popular Meredith Willson show, which became a Broadway hit in 1957 and won five Tony Awards. Teresa Drews, a Milwaukee-area actress who has performed in a number of area shows with Woodall, will direct. Tickets cost $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, $5 for veterans, $3 for students, and are free for children under 12.
Cast in the female lead as Marian is Leanna Brice, a senior from Cedarburg, WI, while alumnus Colin Murdy will play the male lead of Harold Hill. “We have an exceptionally strong cast,” said Woodall, who noted the number of students auditioning for performances has tripled since she started 10 years ago.
The Music Man follows the story of Harold Hill, a traveling con man who arrives in River City and convinces the locals to start a band by purchasing uniforms and instruments from him. However, his intentions to flee are challenged after falling for the town librarian, Marian.
