Grant Park Music Festival

The Grant Park Music Festival was founded by the Chicago Park District in 1935, and remains the nation's only free, outdoor, municipally-supported classical music festival. It is presented in partnership with the Grant Park Orchestral Association and the Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events.

The Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus, led by Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Carlos Kalmar and Chorus Director Christopher Bell, is made up of professional musicians from organizations across the country. Each summer they gather in Millennium Park for over 30 free performances of both beloved and rarely heard masterpieces.
