Your Regional Guide To The Performing Arts

Presented by Whitefish Bay High School Theatre

Following the closing arguments in a murder trial, the 12 members of the jury must deliberate, with a guilty verdict meaning death for the accused, an inner-city teen. As the dozen jurors try to reach a unanimous decision while sequestered in a room, one juror casts considerable doubt on elements of the case while uncovering people’s individual biases and prejudices. Internal ugliness soon rises to the surface, and conflict threatens to derail the delicate process that will decide one boy's fate.

This situation, although set in the late 1960s for our production, could still happen today. Moments still exist where a life is held in the balance, and someone’s prejudices, or desire for justice, will determine their fate. Our hope is that when this production ends, the conversations inspired by this piece that have occurred and evolved over the past sixty years, live on.

Come join us for this ever-relevant exploration of the best and worst within humanity.
