500 W. Kilbourn Avenue
The historic Miller High Life Theatre, owned and operated by the Wisconsin Center District, is Milwaukee and Wisconsin's largest and most elegant destination theater. It hosts an extensive calendar of concerts, family shows, Broadway musicals, and other public and private events.
The Miller High Life Theatre is located at 6th & Kilbourn, in the heart of downtown Milwaukee's sports & entertainment district. It seats 4,087 patrons comfortably, and with the use of plush curtaining systems, it can be configured into more intimate spaces that seat 2,486 or 1,291.
When the building opened in 1909 as the Milwaukee Auditorium, it was one of the nation’s first, purpose-built “multi-use” facilities, designed to serve the burgeoning industrial trade show circuit as well as provide a venue for public assemblies, exhibitions and entertainment of all kinds. For decades the Milwaukee Auditorium hosted conventions, trade shows, Presidential speeches and rallies, and a wide range of sports, entertainment and fine arts events.
In 2001, the Wisconsin Center District committed itself to completely transforming the Milwaukee Auditorium into a state-of-the-art assembly, concert and theatrical venue; the new Milwaukee Theatre opened on November 7, 2003. The project converted the Auditorium’s flat-floored arena to a more spectator-friendly performance hall with two sloped tiers of seats, superior sight lines, ADA accessibility, 21st century backstage amenities, and a stunning half-domed rotunda lobby.
In 2016, MillerCoors LLC became the title sponsor of the venue, and the name change to “Miller High Life Theatre” was implemented in 2017.
